Tried this last night:
1. DryCreekVnyd Soleil LateHrvst Dessert Wine SonomaCnty (62% SauvBlanc, 38% Semillon; 100% brl frmtd; 15 mo. in French oak, 20% new; 13.5%; TA: 0.84, pH: 3.37; RS: 10%) 2005: Med.light gold color; slight herbal/SB light toasty/butterscotchy/creme brulee strong peachy/apricotty/botrytis slight nutmeg/cardamon clean fragrant nose; somewhat sweet lovely creme brulee/butterscotchy tart apricotty/peachy/botrytis light herbal/SB slight honeydew melon/cardamon lovely flavor; very long/lingering tart apricotty/peachy/botrytis bit herbal/SB light toasty/oak/creme brulee finish; plenty of botrytis but lots of fresh character. Terrific Sauternes. A steal at $25/hlf.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. This (and the Clendenen OneHandClapping botrytis PinotBlanc) are two of the lovliest Calif Sauternes I've had in some time. This DryCreek has plenty of fresh acidity and should easily go out 20 yrs. It doesn't have that heavy/ponderous character that many Calif botrytis wines show and is more in the character of a Barsac or a Ch. Filhot or Doisy-Daene. An absolutely terrific dessert wine. The best Soleil yet from DCV.
