Tried this last night w/ my pasta:
1. Garretson Syrah PasoRobles TheBulladoir (15.9%; 150 cs) 2003: Black slightly murky color w/ slight bricking at the edges; some reduced/WWII beacon/ozone nose at first that rapidly clears to intense blackberry/boysenberry/jammy/Syrah some peppery/licorice/smokey some blackberry liquer slightly hot/fumey nose; soft/rich/lush intense boysenberry/blackberry liquer/Syrah/chocolaty/licorice very ripe classic PR Syrah flavor; soft/lush/big/ripe chocolaty/liquer/boysenberry/blackberry/Syrah/framboise finish w/ light tannins; a very attractive classic ripe PR huge fruit Syrah.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. With snow falling outside and temps in the mid-teens, this was exactly the wine called for last night. Classic huge-fruit Paso Syrah that's not showing much development or complexity, but just mightey-fine drinking. Dang...I'm gonna miss Mat's wines. Have about 2 cases left to carry me out for a few yrs.
