12.0% alc, from Marlborough NZ.

This is easily one of the best new world Rieslings I've tasted. Very pale yellow in colour with a lovely nose that starts out showing bright lime and grapefruit zest and opens out with time to show flowers, some tropical fruit and flinty mineral notes. Incredibly refreshing on the palate with more citrus fruits, green apple and guava flavours that seem to be almost infused with stones and flint - the minerality and bright acidity combine here to give it an incredibly light, almost rainwater-like sensation over the tongue. This finishes almost dry (tastes like a halbtrocken - this has 12 g/L residual sugar, which is barely felt with the acidity balancing the sweetness), very clean and long. Delicious - this bottle didn't take long to get emptied, and I really need to track down more of this.
