2001 Georg Breuer Berg Schlossberg Riesling, Rheingau (001 02)

I don't have much experience with Breur but this was delightful. Just starting to take on a light golden hue, but still vibrant and youthful. Full bodied. concentrated. Dry with crisp acidity, all the while maintaining balance and a precise elegance. Should develop with some additional years in the pit, so I'll let my remaining 2 bottles rest a few years==>although that may be tough to do, given how nice this is right now.

Sounds wonderful. I think the more opulent Rheingau wines are coming out of their shell earlier than the Mosel and Nahe wines.

Funny you should mention that. I had a small tipple of a 2001 Robert Weil Spatlese (sorry no notes or details) that I thought was joyful in a youthful sort of way. I just wish I had been able to spend more time with it.
