Niagara Penninsula.

Very pale green-yellow in the glass.

Veggy and sulphur on the nose.

Creamy, rich, quite tangy, lemon-lime fruit, refreshing, spicy, lightly oaked, with an odd asparagus note.

A very nice wine from a winery I had never tried before.

Screwcap closure.

Good value at $16.95 Canadian.

The winery is worth a visit if you get in the area. Its an octoganal shaped building on the escarpment with large glass windows in the tasting room and a couple of levels. The owner/winemaker is quite accessible and spent a good 45 minutes talking with PaulB and me this past Spring.

Bruce, I hope this wine wasn't named after one of my husband's favorite Texasisms about rain--"Like a cow peein' on a flat rock."

I don't think so Jenise. :) There are some flat, rocky outgrowths on the escarpment in the area of the winery. Here's a link:

Thanks again for letting me know about this winery Howie.

Typically Canadian: it takes someone from outside the coutry to let me know about something good that is happening here!!
