13% alcohol. Screwcap. I thought I had pulled out a 2004 Bedford Road Sauvignon Blanc which I was going to compare to the 2005 over next weekend. Because of the bottle color and thickness, I didn't realize it was a red wine until I poured it and then rechecked the label and saw Pinot Noir. (Will get to the Sauvignon Blanc by the weekend).
Reddish-purple color, not opaque. Bright, powerful black raspberry with a peppery finish. Perhaps on a par or slightly more interesting that the Crossings Pinot Noir which in turn I thought was better than other N.Z. Pinots I've tried (still a very small number.) Smooth overall. I would buy this one again.
