Mendoza
Bodegas Esmeralda

Dark purple in the glass.

A great nose: smoky, sweet berry fruit, creamy, red licorice, spicy, roasted.

Very smoky, with suggestions of bacon fat, creamy, fleshy blueberry, black cherry, spicy, good acidity, medium weight, soft in the mouth, red licorice, a good tangy edge.

With time the wine kind of fell apart, losing much of its fruit and becoming tangy and drying.

A very smoky, bacon finish.

Screwcap closure.

Purchased at $10.10 (Canadian).
