Next time: try http://www.lacajachina.com/. Cheaper, faster, and much, much safer... I have yet to figure out how the hell one puts a photo into one of these messages, which prevents me from putting up one of pig on a stick on the pit done right.

Here is what Robin posted in the "How To.." forum on picture posting

You can do it, Gary, but for inscrutable reasons, you have to enclose the image code within a table code and align the table right or left.

Here's the sample code that I used to post the label image at right - I've substituted squiggly brackets for the needed angle brackets. If you use this as a model, change every instance of { to <and>.

{table border="0" align="right"}{tr}{td}{img src="http://www.wineloverspage.com/graphics1/orle0701.jpg" border="1" align="right"}{/td}{/tr}{/table}

Oh, I was never gone... I've just been too busy to post anything and limited to quick drive-by replies on other folks' threads. The pile up of TNs and travel reports has become so obscene (17 of my little black Clairefontaine notebooks, plus a whole mess of loose sheets, napkins and voice recordings on my cell phone) I need to do something about it and get down to typing.

I am putting on extra sunscreen on my bald head.

Okay, so since I've finally figured out the picture thing, here we go, Joey. This is how it's done...

Step 1:

Step 2:

I read somewhere that baldness is often caused by excess testosterone. You must drive the girls crazy! You are one good lookin' dude. Keep the fire lit!

Well thank you, James. I try to keep as decently as possible, even if I'm rather overweight and blind in one eye. I drive one girl crazy, but I htink it's "crazy" the wrong way, at this stage.

By the way, in that glass I'm holding in the photo there's 1986 Oddero Barolo "Vigna Rionda" (funny, the permanence of photography; a wine I drank and excreted months ago is still there...)

I wanted to get one of those, Manuel. My only problem is storage - I've got none of it! So, as with a paella pan, they'll have to wait until I get a bigger apartment.

Ah well.

Best,
Joe

I've been driving one girl crazy in any multitude of ways for 26 years or more. You are thinner, and much younger than I am. Plus you don't have three daughters (21, 16, and 14) to keep you up at night. Keep the girl crazy (in a good way) and be good to yourself (and her)!

I just got off the phone with Barry from RWC - great guy.

He's giving me a half refund on the 82 Brovia, just showing how valuable it is to have a great relationship with an honest retailer like the Rare Wine Company.

Best,
Joe

Good news on that refund, Joe. Barry really has been helpful and quick to response whenever I email him.

Of course, I reinvested my refund (and then some) in a few bottles of the 2001 Cascina Francia

If Barry doesn't take care of your problem, just tell him BIG LOU from Napa, formerly SO CA will be over to pay him a visit. We go back a long time, always a good guy to do business with.

Another pig roast? Manuel will take care of the details since he is the resident expert. Let's see Bill, we'll both be retired by then....

Someone in insurance once told me that the average life time for an engineer after retirement is 2 yrs. I'm never going to retire.

I'm in! Unless it's a Monday, then I am out as the drive is too long...oh...wait...I will be retired. I'll live longer though because I am a manager now instead of an engineer.

Hmm...is my hair getting pointy?

Better your hair, than your wine. Manager? With no stress you'll live forever.
