Venetia.
A 75-25 blend of Pinot Grigio and Verduzzo.
Light golden in the glass.
Spicy, citrus, toast, smoke on the nose.
Fairly weighty and round in the mouth, toasty, lemon and lime, good tangy acidity, quite rich, creamy, spicy, almonds, lots of oak-caramel, with some drying bitter lemon rind toward the end.
With time, the wine revealed more of an edge: spicy, peppery and lime, with evident oak, which just made everything weird.
Toasty on the mouthwatering finish.
A bit too heavy on the oak for my taste. If I did drink this again, it would be with something like a roast pork, salmon or other rich seafood.
