Veneto

Medium cherry red in the glass.

A real "wow" nose: rich and big, leather, earth, floral, spicy, smoky. With time, the nose calmed down a bit, but that first hit was amazing.

Medium to heavy weight in the mouth, thick, tobacco, smoke, leather, earth, cherry, tangy, a mild bitter bite toward the end, red licorice, a hint of cinnamon.

A drying finish, followed by intense smoked meat-bacon, smoky on the very long finish.

This wine is quite smoky, as if I had been sitting by the campfire at the cottage all night. This might be too much for some people, but I loved it. I think this would kill with BBQ-ed meat.

Purchased for the ridiculous price of only $13.95 (Canadian).
