Australian Zin wins big competition (BP).
Posted: Wed Jul 05, 2006 8:57 amThe International Wine Challenge over in the UK has announced this years winners of the big annual tasting. The winner of the Zinfandel class is the `03 Irvine Zin, S Australia!! Now one is not quite sure how many wines were submitted and what the competition was. Some classes in the past have had a dismal turnout, I remember one year only 13 wines from Alsace were submitted!! Guess it is all tongue-in-cheek stuff eh forumites? Many deride the whole idea of such tastings as the best wines are never submitted! LOL.
