WTN: Chateau Calissanne 2005

AC Côteaux d'Aix-en-Provence

A blend of Grenache, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon.

Decanted about 30 minutes before supper.

Very dark red in the glass.

Light fruit and floral notes on the nose.

Soft in the mouth, raspberry and strawberry, medium weight, tangy, earthy, with a somewhat firm backbone.

A long, raspberry finish.

I think this wine could benefit from some aging.

Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).

You are always trying stuff I have never heard of. Then I look and I can't find most of it (I passed on the Yellow Tail). Ontario exclusives?
