Americans should drink Italian and Spanish wines this weeken

by JC (NC) » Fri Oct 10, 2008 3:51 pm

In celebration of Columbus Day we should toast Colombo with an Italian wine (from the vicinity of Genoa) and then a Spanish wine for the Spanish royalty that sponsored his voyage. However, I am going to a tasting of Central Coast Pinot Noirs this evening and have a couple Cabernet Sauvignon lined up for Wine Focus this weekend. Whatever you imbibe, may it be pleasing to your palate.

And don't forget that Monday is Thanksgiving in Canada! :)

Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

And some Canary wine would fit too, as that's where Columbus ended up!

It took me three tries to make the picture small enough and remember that just hitting "Enter" wasn't enough. I must be getting old.

If we're toasting Columbo shouldn't we all wear tan trench coats?

I tried.
It was corked.
