Fruity, easy drinking but recognizable as Bordeaux, albeit lightweight. Adequate acid and soft tannins lend structure but still gulpable. Good choice with rotisserie chicken. Who says Bordeaux can't be good QPR? $8.25 at 25% off.

Good one, Charles. I've seen this wine around and need to grab a bottle for that price. Speaking of qpr Bordeaux, we are doing "Budget Bordeaux" on 101 next month on some board (here, the old place, somewhere!) and I'm hosting a Budget Bdx tasting at Andover Liquors.
Any other readily available qpr Bordeaux come to mind?

Bill,
I'd tasted a table of inexpensive Bordeaux in November and this was the pick of the litter, but that's my main experience. A good cru bourgeois would be a significant step up both in price and quality, but this is an easy-drinking and generous wine with full retail ~ $11. Even cheaper is 2003 Haut Sociando from Cotes de Blaye, which was cough-syrupy on arrival but more recent taste showed to be quite drinkable at the very low end ($7 or 8).
Good luck in Andover!
Charles
