TN: Argyle Willamette Valley Pinot Noir 2004 (screwcap) 12.50
Apparently screwcaps don't sell well in Michigan. :?: That's the only reason I can think of for Russo's offering this at 12.50 - case price. Because the stuff inside is as good as ever - black cherry, a little earthy, and perhaps a touch of tobacco, very nice mouthfeel, a bit on the sweet side, nice long finish. This will be great with the Copper River Sockeye just entering our market at $19 a pound. Some of the reports I've seen describe it as a heavier wine than it really is. This is a very nice, medium bodied, and somewhat restrained pinot, the kind that goes better with food than as a stand alone fruitbomb. I like it.

I second the motion. We have been drinking a lot of the '04 Argyle. It is a great food wine, particularly well suited to Salmon. You are getting an exellent price at $12.50 per. I'm giving about $15 a bottle here.
