I finally did it, updated my wine inventory to Cellartracker and it went very smoothly. I find it very useful organizing my cellar, and like the various features the software provides. Kudos to Eric. My first note using Cellartracker.

2004 Prager Grüner Veltliner Federspiel Hinter der Burg - Austria, Niederösterreich, Wachau (5/28/2006)
This was pale yellow with green glints, smelled of rainwater on rocks, green snap peas, lemon peel, more minerals, bright acidity, good body but not too weighty, and finishes with a little white pepper spice. It went nicely with creamy polenta topped with sauteed onion, spinach, mushrooms, and parmesan. This is a great value for $16. I would buy more. The 04 GV's I've tasted from Austria have been good to very good so far.

Despite the fact that 2004 has a good but not great reputation, I have enjoyed nearly every 2004 Austrian I have tasted. I've got a Pichler Weissburgunder in the queue for later this week.

I finally ran into one really funky '04 GV the other day. First I thought it might have been sulfury reductiveness under screwcap, but after that blew off, there was <i>still</i> something dirty about it. I agree, though, that the '04s are generally enjoyable. I'll dig around and find my notes on that bad boy.
