WTN: Kuentz Bas Sylvaner Traditional 2003

Alsace.

Quite a gentle and subtle wine, featuring melon and some lime, slightly honeyed, with some mouthwatering acidity on the end.

Certainly not a wine to choose if you are looking for a bold tasting experience, but worked rather well with some BBQ chicken and veg kabobs.

Thanks for the note. Good to see a 2003 with adequate acidity, also.

Funny spelling: kabob! Are there many Iranians where you live? Your spelling suggests the phonology of Farsi...

No, there aren't many Iranians in Prescott. I know of one family of four (in a town of 5,000) but that is it.

I agree on the wine, I´ve learned to stay away from such wines regardless of what justification Kermit can muster in his newsletter.

I´ve always seen it spelled kebob in the US.

Kabáb would be the transliteration. Usually I've seen it transcribed kebab or kabab, but never before with an /o/ - which is what I thought was a farsism.

Mystery solved. I can't spell. Asked my wife (the cook) how she would spell it and she suggested kebab.
