From the Friuli winery owned by Ruffino.

This was available on the by-the-glass list for a chain Italian restaurant we were lunching at, and it was the best option by far.

Accompanied a simple and not-very-diavolo Fra Diavolo shrimp and orechiette pasta.

I'm a fan of Friuli Sauvignons---heck, I'm a big fan of most of the white wines coming out of Friuli---and it was the best choice with the pasta dish.

I suspect this bottle had been open for a while, as it had lost its edge considerably and seemed fairly dull. Medium-weight, herbal/fruity, with full mid-palate, it never developed the zing I expected. Still, it had some of the characteristic sage nuances that show up from Collio, and a lovely green herbal tang, so I'll give it some slack, and not pass judgement until I've had what I know is a fresh bottle.
