This is my take on the state of the wine industry in Israel and the wineries I visited up north - more to come on all of them and the wine notes...

Victor is no longer a 1 winery importer. They're expanding their portfolio. I believe they import Ventura.

Could be - but I was not impressed with his selection before, other than Ella Valley - time will tell. also, I do not think that Victor is doing anything for Ella Valley - marketing wise, why they stay with him - is beyond me, but that is 100% MY opinion. I think there needs to be some change - either on his side or on Ella's side. Again, MY OPINION!!!

Elchonon - examples of the "insane" prices of Ventura in the Miami area? Just Curious...

According to some of the info I gathered recently, it is not at all that sure that Victor STILL imports Ventura...

Hi David,

Thanks for the detailed writeup. I'm looking forward to the other installments. When at Dalton, did you get to taste their Alma Rhone blend? If so, how was it? Also, too bad you didn't make it to Ramot Naftali, as I am curious to learn what is u with their Barbera.

Indeed the 2010 Alma SMV was awesome, rich and full bodied - just not a WOW wine, but a clear QPR winner again. Mega bummer on the Ramat Naftoli, maybe next time....

Ok now please stop with the "Ramot Naftoli", "Kinor Dovid" etc. These are wineries' names! It's Kinor DAvid and Ramot NaftAly! Hello! It's not davening time! The rabbi is checking the wine, not his siddur!

Gabe: I have 2 questions: 1. How many times did you feel the itch to post this but bit your tongue (or finger)? 2. How much wine did you drink prior to posting?

Victor just began importing Ventura! If they already switched importers, that must be some sort of record. As for prices, Ventura is expensive everywhere, including in Israel. Finally, I don't understand why they don't export their best wine: the CF!

Way too many times but since an arab such as Raccah wrote "Ramot NaftOli" I couldn't hold myself anymore! G-d knows what would have I said had I drunk a single drop prior to posting that.

That's the point, rumor has it that he fought with Victor, already, but again, rumor... And Ventura and 'logic' don't mix well together you can trust me with that.
