Tu B'Av Wine Festival in the North

Festival in the Vines continues the tradition of special events for this, the sixth year. It will be celebrated for three days and nights in a variety of special events - music concerts under the stars, moonlight, fairs, guided tours on foot or all-terrain vehicles, special meals at restaurants in the area, workshops and tours in and many activities including wine tasting in the Galilee.

Participating wineries include - Dalton Winery, Adir Winery, Miles Winery, Ben Zimra Winery, Luria Winery, Galil Mountain Winery, Ramot Naftali Winery, Naaman Winery, Amram Winery, Rimon Winery, Nahal Amud Winery ,Kadita Winery, and Sparrow Winery.

Part of this festival will include the possibility for one to participate in the "Batzir" (if you get there early) at Lueria Winery. They start at 5:30 AM and will be harvesting their Gewurztraminer grapes. Later they we unveil two wines including Lueria's Ruso from the 2010 vintage and the first time they have made a Chardonnay varietal (2011 vintage). Also there will be a launch of the 2011 Adir Chardonnay on Thursday evening, August 2nd at 7:30 PM at their beautiful Visitors Center. This is part of a night of Greek songs, stories, and dancing which starts at 8:30 PM with an admission charge of 75 shekels. Call (04) 699-1039 for reservations. They will serve goat cheeses from the Adir Dairy. At an extra charge, you can enjoy Greek food.
