Friday night - Peraj Petita 2006. Very nice, hadn't opened a bottle in a year or so. Three left.
Saturday - K by Saslove 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon. Nose smelled of Jack Daniels, couldn't finish the bottle. One left, sigh!

Bill, my blog posting is for you. I too used to hold on to bottles for too long Since then, I have learned my lesson, got on top of my inventory of wines (using Cellar Tracker) and have input all drink by dates. Please - we must all live the motto "No good wine should be left to die".

The posting has my many wines and my dishes we enjoyed. Some were mega hits, including the 2001 and 2006 single vineyard Merlots (ortal and Odem) along with some duds.

Gotta say reading "Jacksonville Wine Guide" sort of takes my breath away.

I saw the two articles when they originally came out, and their Facebook page was deader than a doornail; however, they have a new one and it IS active:

Not to pull this too afar, but the Recanati 2010 Wild Carignan, can be had in Israel for 129 sheck! Here ~60 or so bucks, depending on the discount. Crazy. In Israel, when the 2009 was released it could not be found for less than 200 or so. Now for the 2010 that is not an issue, maybe because they have yet to score it (by Daniel or Parker) and so have yet to force the prices higher - not sure....
