How I Appear / WeeksEnd wine

Founded by the late Daniel Rogov, focusing primarily on wines that are either kosher or Israeli.

Friday evening: Binyamina Reserve Merlot 2006. Now at its peak, very good, but not to the extent one might expect by reading Rogov's TN.

Saturday lunch: Barkan Assemblage Reichan 2008. Nothing special, less sweet than average Israeli wine.

How so? Personally I loved it, and was in total agreement with Rogov on this one. Had it about 4 weeks ago and enjoyed it immensely, wasn't exactly like the Yarden Odem '06 but reminded me of it though.

Gabriel - apparently, I have misinterpreted the words "Merlot with a unique ... personality". I have expected something outstanding, like Yarden Ortal'04 or '01. The wine is very good indeed, as I have mentioned.

Hi Harry.
Just remembered that I forgot to post the wines from last Shabbat:
Friday night - Recanati Special Reserve 2007 - definitely ready for drinking and delicious.
Shabbat lunch - Tabor Adama II Cabernet Sauvignon - Petit Syrah - suggest waiting with this one. Didn't open up even after several hours.
Shabbat Shalom.

Might be indeed problematic, in my experience Petite Sirah wines, especially in their youth, often tend to need more time than other varieties to open up and for their elements to come together, I'd wait at least a year personally with the Tabor A II.

By the way, I've posted on a different thread 2 or 3 weeks ago that Tabor Adama II were available at Bar 55 in Jerusalem. I've checked this week and no Tabor Adama II there... My informant probably got confused and mixed that up with something else, never mind.

Shabbat Shalom!

I had the 2006 Gush Etzion Cab/Merlot wine and it was in a crazy funk to start and then after many many hours it was OK, not something I could honestly score - but my notes are here:
