Daniel Rogov wrote:A lovely surprise. Attended a tasting today at the offices of Remy Berrebi of importer Mincol and one of the wines tasted was a kosher Tempranillo from Spain. The wine will shortly be available in Israel for about NIS 70 and can be ordered by phoning 03 6874616. The wine will also be appearing in the near future in the USA. I will post details when those are available.
Bodegas Casa Quemada, Tempranillo, Tierra de Castilla, 2007: Dark cherry red towards garnet in color, medium-bodied, with soft, almost plush tannins. Reflecting its 6 months in oak with vanilla and light smoky notes, opening to show a nose and palate of cherries, berries, and sweet cedar notes. Generous and fresh, with the tannins and notes of dark chocolate rising on the finish. Drink now-2012. Score 88. K (Tasted 14 Sep 2008)
