TNR Herzog Special Reserve Zinfandel 2005

Tried this wine tonight and we all loved it!

Decanted it for 1+ hours and served with hamburgers. My untrained pallette found it to have good spicy fruit on a moderately long peppery finish. Round and lush.

Looking forward to read what Daniel and others have thought of this wine.

All the Best!

Matt, Hi....

Following is my tasting note for the wine in question. I suspect that your "peppery" and my "spicy" are synonymous in this case.

Herzog, Zinfandel, Special Reserrve, Lodi, 2005: Deep royal purple in color, medium- to full-bodied, with soft tannins integrated nicely and showing appealing spicy plum and berry fruits. Long and generous. Drink now-2009. Score 88. (Tasted 12 Mar 2007)
