Israeli Wines in Japan: "The New Rage"?

That the very best and most expensive wines of Bordeaux and Champagne are sought out by at least a certain class of wine drinkers in Japan has long been well known. I doubt that the Bordelaise and the Champenoise have very much to worry about but in a recent tasting of Israeli wines several Israeli wines scored very nicely indeed. As to who precisely were the judges and how they judged, I know little but the results of the tasting were printed this month in Japan's WinArt magazine…

Galil Mountain, Yiron, 2004 93 points
Saslove, Cabernet Sauvignon Reserved, 2004 93 points
Sea Horse Winery, Lennon, 2004, 92 points
Avidan, Premium, 2006, 92 points
Sea Horse Winery, Antonioni, 2005 91 points
Vitkin, Late Harvest, 2005, 90 points
Yarden, Katzrin, 2003, 90 points

I'd give some hints about the judges' tasting notes but cannot for with apologies, Japanese is one of those many languages that I can neither read nor write (well, with the exception of a few spoken politeness and the ability to order from a menu).
