Yarden CS 2000

I have tried the wine yesterday what a pleasure.
I am so happy I still have a few more bottles, it seems that the wine still has a few more good years in-front of it ,up to 2011 at least.
Deep red, wonderful matured nose - dark chocolate, tobacco, earthiness with black fruits, balance between good tannin and acidity, long finish... a real pleasure.

WTN: Yarden CS 2000

Postby Daniel Rogov » Sun Jul 27, 2008 5:42 am

Yariv, Hi.....

We are in large agreement....

Yarden, Cabernet Sauvignon, 2000: Full-bodied, still youthful, with firm tannins and generous oak well balanced by currants, blackberries and spicy cedarwood, those opening to plums and black cherries, all matched nicely with vanilla and an appealing herbal-chocolate overlay followed by a long finish. Drink now–2011. Score 92. K

To be honest, I liked the 2000 Yarden CS more than any of the later vintages, when I managed to taste them side by side.
The 2003 is not bad at all but it still has to show more than it does now, and I believe the 2000 showed better at the same age, definitely more balanced.
2001 is good, but a short runner to my taste, 2002 is ..., well, 2002, and 2004 I thought lacks the quality of 2000 and 2003.

One more thing - I believe the drinking window is wider than till 2011, since the wine has so much fruit and still very balanced. I hope, Rogov, when you next taste it you will be able to check that.
