Beautifully clear ruby deepening to purple center. On the nose I get blackberry, cloves, licorice and a little tobacco. Lighter bodied than I expected- much lighter than most Aussie Shiraz I've had- with nice acidity. Blackberry, raspberry and cloves with tannins that are pronounced but very pleasing. Finish is long and really good! Bet is this one will be even better in a few years.

Served with sirloin steak with roasted garlic au jus, simple steamed green beans with lemon zest and dill, and yams with butter, cream and nutmeg.
