WTN: Yann Chave Crozes Hermitage Le Rouvre 2004

Importer: Weygand-Metzler Unionville, PA

13.5% alcohol

Beautifully clear ruby deepening to purple center. On the nose I get blackberry, cloves, licorice and a little tobacco. Lighter bodied than I expected- much lighter than most Aussie Shiraz I've had- with nice acidity. Blackberry, raspberry and cloves with tannins that are pronounced but very pleasing. Finish is long and really good! Bet is this one will be even better in a few years.

Served with sirloin steak with roasted garlic au jus, simple steamed green beans with lemon zest and dill, and yams with butter, cream and nutmeg.

Thanks for the note. It sounds very much like a wine I would enjoy and worth seeking out.
