WTN: Woody Nook 'Nooky Delight' (aussie port style)

Well if you're not allowed to call it port, what DO you call the wine?

The label is at least more tasteful than it could have been.

The colour is a light red-claret with clear browning at the rim. Nose is rich, cherry liquerish, with aromas of nuts and not too spirity. Pretty complex.

The light palate is nicely balanced, but just a little soft and simple in comparison to the nose. Good long finish with the faintest twist of bitterness. It drinks great and went very nicely with a variety of Italian cheeses. No need to cellar any longer.

We've enjoyed this wine before and have enjoyed it tonight as well. However the two ports we've had this year have been a Croft 1966 and an unknown 1922 that was still in good shape. Difficult to live in that company.
