Momo Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2009
Made from 100% organically grown grapes, this seems quite a savoury style of Sauvignon Blanc, the savouriness probably accentuated by the wild yeast ferment that seems to add a funky veneer to the bright fresh fruity flavours. But there's loads of passionfruit and underlying gooseberry and a spicy zestinesss that is just so, so Marlborough.
This is the first 'fully certified' organic (as recognised in NZ and the UK) Sauvignon Blanc from the Momo Range - a label from the Seresin family. Bio-Gro is the certifiying agent in New Zealand - and it's not's just grapes and grape growing, but the additives and winery practices too (I think).
Price about NZ$19. Screwcap closure.
