2004 Domaine Manoir du Carra Beaujolais-Villages Non-Filtre$11. Imp: Kysela. 12.5% abv.
I last had this wine about a year ago when Robert Jones brought it to one of the Boston Fung-fests. At the time, I found it very light and refreshing while others commented on it being fairly thin. Appearing thin would be no surprise as it followed a glorious 35yr old rioja and a robust Cali pinot. On its own, it shows very nicely. A whole pile of perfumed, ripe, sweet blueberries and raspberries are crushed into the glass in this very refreshing summer red from Jean Noël Sambardier. Wonderfully fresh fruit flavors and a cleansingly tart cherry finish with dusty, chewy tannins. Good stuff.
