WTN: '07 Capestrano Montepulciano d’Abruzzo

Sorry this is a day late. 2007 Capestrano, Montepulciano d’Abruzzo ($9.99 U.S. at Whole Foods): Alcohol level: 13%. This one is bottled by Pepperoncino S.R.L, and imported by Vias Imports LTD, NY.

It gives you black berry fruit and plums on the nose and upfront. There is more fruit, spice, and Abruzzo dirt in the complex middle along with smooth tannin, nice acidity, and near perfect balance. It gave us a round and fruity finish.

We matched it with Gemelli in our tomato sauce, garlicky sausages, and a nice salad; all topped with Reggiano Parmigiano. It was like a weekend on Wednesday night!
