2007 Trinity Oaks, California, Pinot Noir ($8.99 Whole Foods). Alcohol level: 13.5%. This is the third or fourth bottling from Trinchero Family Estates. Allegedly each purchase plants a tree!
A pleasant wine when slightly chilled it does give strawberries and cherries on the nose and upfront. Not too much in the middle, but nothing bad. There is a pleasant finish. It is much like a good Bo Jo.
We matched it with fillet steak seared and roasted with sautéed morels, baked California potatoes, and salad with vinaigrette and crumbled blue cheese (also from WF). All adds up to a very nice mid day meal.
