Good natural cork, $18 Cdn, 13.8% alc, opened half hour but not decanted.
Castle Rock has a good portfolio and is an excellent winery to consider if one is just looking around for something quaffable! This wine was cellared for 2yrs.
Color. Deep ruby w.purple tinges on rim. No sign of age, medium plus intense centre.
Nose. Still some oak and spice, berries, hint of expresso.
Palate. Solid ripe fruit, low tannin structure, guzzler, jammy. Some nice cherry and blueberry flavor, plum too. Not a lot of complexity but drinks nicely. I would think $10 south of here so good QPR!
