News release:

Colonnade Café at newly relocated Louisville Antique Mall.

The full service, white tablecloth café featuring traditional Kentucky and Southern dishes as perfected by the former Louisville landmark, Colonnade Cafeteria in its nearly 100 years existence in downtown Louisville, will be opening in April.

Louisville, January 28, 2008: Selective Dining, Inc. and Denise Golden, Principal of Louisville Antique Mall announced today that an agreement has been reached to open a full service restaurant on the fifth floor of the newly relocated Louisville Antique Mall at the corner of Broadway and Campbell in downtown Louisville.

The Colonnade Café will feature the same warmth and charm found in the Colonnade Cafeteria, operated in Louisville for nearly 100 years, with a fresh take on authentic Southern fare. Gourmet soups, salads and sandwiches will be featured daily in addition to the famous selection of Colonnade desserts. The weekend menu will include a traditional Southern brunch.

The Colonnade Café will be open for business from 11:00 am – 3:00 pm Monday thru Friday and 9:00 am – 4:00 pm on Saturday and Sunday. The café will also be available for private events.

Something interesting is happening on E. Broadway. The Cafe, Colonnade, Coach Lamp (?), Antique Mall, Stoneware et al. Some have been there a while and others are new, but all are local and emphasize quality. With Germantown's revival and Liberty Green there may be some stability in those blocks. Hey, it's not exactly the new Bardstown Rd., but it is interesting.

Antique Mall is closing at the end of the month, and so is the Colonnade.

Not as far as we know (Hubby has a booth on the first floor.) It was announced to the dealers on Monday evening, so there has not been a lot of time to mull it over yet. The mall closes to the public on June 30 and dealers have until July 7 to move everything out.
