Ken Wright Cellars 1997 Willamette Valley (Oregon) Pinot Blanc ($10.99)Clear, pale greenish-gold, with light, fresh melon and mint aromas. Full and bright, it seems soft and somewhat off-dry on the first taste, but firm, steely acidity and a pleasant bitter-almond quality bring it together in the finish. (Aug. 12, 1999)
FOOD MATCH: Worked well with a simple stir-fry crafted to match the wine, featuring pork loin, celery, onions and cabbage touched with soy and "five-spice" flavors.
