Carmen 1995 Maipo Valley (Chile) Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon ($10.49) Clear, dark ruby color. Spicy oak, black fruit and a marked note of caramel or burnt sugar. Juicy blackcurrant flavor backed by substantial tannins and lemon-squirt acidity. Good table wine, reminiscent of a Bordeaux petit chateau, but not up to the excitement level of the Carmen Reserve Grande Vidure or, reportedly, the Reserve Merlot. Importer: Brown-Forman Beverages Worldwide, Louisville. (June 14, 1997)
